I asked him why he didn\u2019t just use glue. He said he probably could, with a chuckle in his voice knowing very well that it was not the proper thing to do. He personally chose to do it the traditional way because this rug is an antique and it is a very nice piece. He wanted to complete this job to the best of his ability and by doing so; the traditional way was the best way. His techniques are meticulous and precise. This job took a few days because he put so much effort into it. I have included three steps that show the process. This is step one where the base is made. If you look closely at this image, you will see that each strand is attached individually going one way. The second step is doing the same thing, but going in another direction.
