The class of Sanjan rugs varies from lower to high quality.
The Sanjan rugs are single wefted. Weavers use both Turkish
and Persian knots which vary from 120 KPSI to 475 KPSI. Warps
are mostly cotton and wefts are either wool or cotton. The pile
is made tight.
The major colors are used in these rugs are dark red, light
blue and brown. They can be found in all sizes but usually
large rugs of about 10x18 feet can be seen.
Sanjan rugs are very common because of their affordable costs.
While buying any rug, one must check the number of knots from
the backside of the rug to estimate the quality of a rug.
Higher the number of knots, higher is the quality of a rug.
