The Nain weavers, however, also have an additional unique
method of measuring the Nain carpets value. This method
is known as the Laa which refers to layers or numbers of threads
forming the fringes at the ends of the carpets. These indicate
that the lesser the numbers of threads at the fringes, the
higher the value of the carpet, which is a sign of the fine
quality of the carpet. The most rare value of Laa would be
the 4 thread count which is very difficult to obtain.
Colors of Nain carpets are different intricate designs of
light blue and ivory combinations. Their designs are curvilinear
in nature and are considered the best by many carpet collectors.
Made of soft wool placed in thin, tight piles, the delicate
structure of these carpets also places them in the highest
standards in terms of quality and pricing.
