Enjilas is one of the most renowned villages in Hamadan.
It lies around 20 km south of Hamadan and about midway to
Malayer. The weavers of Enjilas boast of their quality work
and one can never see a poor quality rug from this region.
The finest weave is one of the main characteristics of Enjilas
rugs. They possess mainly two types of patterns, boteh
and herati. A small pastille medallion in the center with
the corners unusually small frequently enclosing a flower,
a leaf or piece of herati is very famous design of Enjilas
rugs.
Warps are of cotton whereas wefts are of wool. Pile is made
of wool with symmetric Turkish
knots. The major colors used in these rugs are pale yellow,
ivory, ochre, mid blue, deep red, navy blue, yellowish olive-green,
bluish green and dark tan.
The exceptional rugs of Enjilas region feature striking, colorful
and flowery designs made in a diversity of styles. All Enjilas
rugs possess a single wefted beautification.
Although Enjilas rugs come in all sizes but the most preferred
ones are between 4x6 up to 8x10 feet. Enjilas is a very famous
